India Joined the G-20 Troika Group

G-20

Chairman:- Joko Widodo(Indonesia)

  • Recently on 1 December 2021 , India Joined the G-20 Troika.
    • Troika Group:- The Top Grouping within the G-20 that consists of :-
      • Current Presidency:- Indonesia
      • Previous Presidency:- Italy
      • Incoming Presidency:- India
  • India will assume the G-20 Presidency on 1 December 2022 from Indonesia and will convene the G-20 Leaders’ summit for the first time in India in 2023.
  • As a Troika member, India will work closely with Indonesia and Italy to ensure consistency and continuity of the G-20 agenda.
  • Indonesia took over the G-20 presidency . In the coming months, Indonesia will hold rounds of discussion at various levels among the members of the G20.

    • 2022 G20 Summit Theme:- Recover Together, Recover Stronger.
  •  Italy hosted the G-20 summit during October 30-31 that was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi where India had raised the issue of Afghanistan's failure following the Takeover by Taliban.
