OBJECTIVE:-
- Provide FHTC(functional household tap connection) to every household.
- Prioritizing provision of FHTC in quality affected areas such as-:
- village in drought prone and desert areas
- Provide FHTC to :-
- schools
- anganwadi centres
- GP building
- health centres
- wellness centres
- community buildings
- Monitor functionality of tap connections.
- Jal jeevan mission looks to create a jan andolan for water.
JAL SHAKTI MINISTRY
- A New ministry created by the government after merging :-
- ministry of water resources.
- river development and ganga rejuvenation
- ministry of drinking, water and sanitation.
- the ministry will roll out the government's ambitious plan to provide piped water connection to every household in India by 2024.
- jal shakti ministry will hold issues ranging from providing clean drinking water, international and inter-states water disputes.
