Observer Status to the UNGA on the International Solar Alliance

Recently, The UN General Assembly has conferred Observer Status on the International Solar Alliance(ISA).        
  • Observer Status:- The status granted by some organizations to non-members to give them an ability to participate in the Organization's activities.
India said would help provide for a well-defined cooperation between the alliance and the UN that would benefit global energy growth and development.

Purpose:- To work for efficient consumption of solar energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
