Article 124:- There shall be a Supreme Court of India consisting of a CJI.
• The Supreme Court appointed the former Punjab and Haryana High Court Judge,Justice Rakesh Kumar Jain to Monitor a time bound investigation into the Lakhimpur Kheri murders and violence in order to ensure transparency.
• A bench of CJI and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli further reconstitute the SIT(Special Investigting Team) by appointing directly recruit IPS officers.
