The role of The UNSC is important to make consensus between Israel and Palestine where violence is at Extreme level.
The united nation of security council in meeting on Sunday discussed the worsening violence between Israel and Palestinian militants.  

THE UNITED NATION OF SECURITY COUNCIL

The united nation of security council is work to maintain international peace and security.it is one of the six principal organs of the united nations and other five organs are:-

      • United nation of general assembly.
      • United nation of economic and social council.
      • United nation of international chief justice.
      • United nation of general secretariat.
      • United nation of trusteeship council(Inactive since 1994)

MEMBER COUNTRIES - 15
    • PERMANENT MEMBERS - 5( China, Russia, France, The united kingdom, America)
    • NON-PERMANENT MEMBERS - 10 (Estonia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Niger, Norway, Saint vincent and grenadines , Tunisia, Vietnam.
FEATURES
  • The non-permanent members of the UNSC are elected for every 2 year term.
  • The presidency of the council is change every month among its 15 members.
  • The member of UNSC are selected from all region of the world.
  • If any one of the five permanent members not vote for resolution then, it cannot be passed.
  • Any member of the united nation may participate in the discussion but without vote.
INDIA AND UNITED NATION OF SECURITY COUNCIL
  • India had been elected eight times as a non-permanent member of the UNSC in 1950, 1967, 1972, 1977, 1984, 1991, 2011 and 2020.
  • In 2020, India winning 184 out of 193 votes at UNGA  and elected as non permanent member up to 2021-2022.
CURRENT CHALLENGES FOR UNSC
  • ISRAEL-GAZA CONFLICT - The situation of the Israel and Gaza becomes Worse than earlier where many innocent people have been dying in the conflict . The UNSC need to re-establish consensus between two Countries.
  • COVID-19 PANDEMIC:- In This pandemic various countries facing health, economics etc problems to come out from this challenge a need of strategy.
